Hér á ég heima (“Here I Belong”) is a video installation by Yuliana Palacios exploring how we take root and create a sense of home in a new environment. The artist offers an intimate, heartfelt portrait of the immigrant experience—the quiet effort to adapt, to belong, and to feel grounded in a foreign land. The work is an ode to immigrants in Iceland, capturing a wide emotional spectrum with depth and sensitivity.

Yuliana Palacios is a Mexican artist who has lived in Iceland since 2016. She works independently on her own projects and frequently collaborates with local artists. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Performing Arts at the Iceland University of the Arts.

This exhibition is part of the Reykjavík Arts Festival.
